There are so many different methods available and it might seem overwhelming if you have never had extensions before, but it doesn’t need to be. Some of the time it depends on your hair type, but it is also a good idea to think about your everyday life... Do you want a “going out” look? Do you exercise alot? Do you want a different look for just for an occasion or do you want something a bit more permanent? Please see our "Methods" section for a more detailed description of each technique.
Hair extensions are perfectly safe for your hair if they are fitted, maintained and removed by a professional. The most common reasons for extensions causing damage are: Improper fitting /placement Extensions fitted too closely to the scalp Clients not following aftercare advice Clients not coming back for regular maintenance/refits
When the hair extensions are installed, they are quite close to the scalp and can initially be a bit uncomfortable, mostly when sleeping for the first one or two days. After this they settle in and become more and more comfortable. You may also experience some itching for the first couple of days but this is just your head adjusting to the extra weight and is completely normal.
During maintenance the extensions are removed row by row, the natural shedding is brushed out and the extensions are moved back up to the top of the head on fresh hair.
It is important to keep up with these appointments regularly because a human head naturally sheds 70-100 hairs a day, therefore some of the hairs that have shed may be caught in the extensions. Over time as the hair sheds, the bond becomes weaker because it has less hair to hold on to therefore eventually the extension will outweigh the natural hair resulting in it possibly pulling it out.
